SHADE and Red River Co-Op Photo-Op

As part of giving back to the local community, Red River Co-Op supported SHADE through its Community Investment Program, among many other non-profits. On February 29, members of SHADE's Board of Directors accepted a donation at the Red River Co-Op Food Store in South St. Vital!

A big thanks to Red River Co-Op for supporting local non-profits doing essential work in Winnipeg.

We're excited to announce SHADE has won a Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding New Service Launch for our MIRRORS program!
Purple Ribbon Awards are presented to hard working organizations that help victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Breakfast Club of Canada
​
We are pleased to let you know that our executive director Sherrie Winstanley has received a Recognition Medal for her outstanding contributions in response to the COVID-19 crisis!
​
Sherrie was recognized by the Breakfast Club of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mint for her efforts to make a real difference in her community. She was able to help 17 adults, 10 children, and 2 infants by providing them with care packages during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
​

Shelter Foundation Volunteer Manitoba
​
In April 2019, SHADE won the Manitoba Real Estate Association Shelter Foundation Volunteer Manitoba award.
SHADE and Pathways to Prosperity
​
SHADE's 12-week MIRRORS program has been documented by Pathways to Prosperity: Canada as a replicable practice for organizations throughout Canada. The initiative is part of the Developing an Evidence Base and Sharing Settlement and Integration Practices that Work project that documents and shares best practices with other social service organizations.
​
Most Outstanding Impact Award
​
The Executive Director of SHADE, Sherrie Winstanley, was part of CharityVillage's 2022 Most Outstanding Impact Awards. Every year, CharityVillage awards a group of finalists awards in different non-profit categories. Sherrie has been working with SHADE for years to support immigrant women impacted by domestic abuse through direct support services, refining SHADE's service offerings, and growing SHADE in order to reach more women.

2nd Annual SHADE 5K
​
SHADE is hosted our second annual Run/Walk on September 18th, 2021. The run/walk took place at Assiniboine Park and it was a wonderful success!
​

A Key to New Beginnings' Necklace Fundraiser
​
SHADE partnered with the @iamloveproject to bring you the 'A Key to New Beginnings' necklace!
​
The fundraiser was a great success and we had so much fun promoting and sharing our fundraiser with those in our community. Thank you again to everyone that purchased a necklace! ​
​
Every necklace sold supported the empowerment of immigrant women and their children impacted by woman abuse/ family violence.

We would like to share with you some amazing news: Our Executive Director was judged as 1 of 5 finalists from 500 nominations in the Outstanding Volunteer category for the .ORG Impact Awards showcased on December 2, 2020.
