SHADE's 12-week MIRRORS program was selected under Pathways to Prosperity: Canada's Developing an Evidence Base and Sharing Settlement and Integration Practices that Work project to be documented and shared with other social service organizations.

2nd Annual SHADE 5K 

SHADE is hosted our second annual Run/Walk on September 18th, 2021. The run/walk took place at Assiniboine Park and it was a wonderful success!

​

Keep an eye out for our third Run/Walk in 2022!

'A Key to New Beginnings' Necklace Fundraiser

SHADE partnered with the @iamloveproject to bring you the 'A Key to New Beginnings' necklace! 

​

The fundraiser was a great success and we had so much fun promoting and sharing our fundraiser with those in our community. Thank you again to everyone that purchased a necklace! ​

​

Every necklace sold supported the empowerment of immigrant women and their children impacted by woman abuse/ family violence.

.ORG Impact Awards

We would like to share with you some amazing news:  Our Executive Director was judged as 1 of 5 finalists from 500 nominations in the Outstanding Volunteer category for the .ORG Impact Awards showcased on December 2, 2020.

Purple Ribbon Award Winner

We're excited to announce SHADE has won a Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding New Service Launch for our MIRRORS program! 

 

Purple Ribbon Awards are presented to hard working organizations that help victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Breakfast Club of Canada 

We are pleased to let you know that our executive director Sherrie Winstanley has received a Recognition Medal for her outstanding contributions in response to the COVID-19 crisis!

​

Sherrie was recognized by the Breakfast Club of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mint for her efforts to make a real difference in her community. She was able to help 17 adults, 10 children, and 2 infants by providing them with care packages during the first COVID-19 lockdown.

​

In April 2019, SHADE won the Manitoba Real Estate Association Shelter Foundation Volunteer Manitoba award.
